Born from the Steppe
Despite his elusive nature, Batbayar cannot cannot pry himself away from his true home for long, on the Azim Steppe. He can sometimes be found roaming and hunting, buying and peddling bones and hides at Reunion, and even taunting the Oronir at the Dawn Throne.
Banished Tumet
Batbayar was formerly of the Tumet tribe, nearly two decades ago, but was caught releasing the children from their bonds during their sacred rite of passage. Praised for his contribution to the tribe, he was spared from death, and was instead beaten and banished.
Urban Tribe
A non-traditional tribe, the Mangqud operate mostly without their Khan's intervention, as traders, mercenaries, labourers, scholars, and serving their own mysterious ends. While not often found accompanying his autonomous tribe, he sometimes must as their Khan, and can be found in any city-state across Hydaelyn on some manner of business.
The Mangqud
A strange founding, comprised of refugees, stragglers and other exiles from the various Xaela tribes, the Mangqud pursue ideals of peace and balance. Many of its members reject the cruel practices and traditions of their previous tribes, instead valuing progress and individual growth, all while still honouring their heritage.While grander stages are reserved for heroes, much like the Warrior of Light, the Mangqud seek to pull the strings from behind the curtain as a force of good that are unafraid to get their hands dirty.Following the liberation of Doma, to which the Mangqud played a minor role in achieving, the small tribe evolved into somewhat of a company. After recruiting many non-xaela throughout their role within the liberation, the Mangqud spread further afield throughout the star, in the interest of casting a wider-net.In the acquisition of property, and spreading further throughout Hydaelyn, the Mangqud expanded into areas of business. Mercenaries, hands for hire, informants, traders, suppliers, and more, behind the visage of made-up company. Every member knows and understands that difficult choices must be made in the pursuit of harmony, and therefore must use anonymity as their shield, to protect the rest of the tribe from decisions that would otherwise result in persecution.In warfare, the Mangqud are elusive, mysterious and hard to pin down. They employ brutal and terror-focused tactics, prioritising demoralisation, decapitation tactics, and asymmetrical warfare. Their enemies come to know and fear them as ghosts and devils, before finally they are destroyed with a quick and decisive blow.
